Book Review - A Doll's House

A Doll's HouseA Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A startling piece of writing. I can only imagine the controversy at the time it was written, but for someone with an already bleak outlook on the institution of marriage this play made a lot of sense to me.

There just appeared to be so much underlying truth to the superficial behaviours of the characters - the characters believe they are being genuine, but how much of that lies in what we want ti display to society as opposed to who we really are.

The notion of the play may seem a little outdater by today's standards, but it, by no means, detracts from the fine piece of art this play.

A must-read for all.
