Book Review - Disgrace

DisgraceDisgrace by J.M. Coetzee
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

While this book presents the world as it is, including its horrors, it sacrifices a great deal in the redemption of its protagonist.

There is a moment in the story when one can't help but feel sorry for the otherwise vile main character, but then the author chooses to reduce the only female character of note into a non-entity, whose actions make no sense.

Certainly a book not to be missed, but misses the bar by a bit.
