My rating: 3 of 5 stars
A thoroughly enjoyable comic. It added a real-world feel to the Bat universe.
I wasn't a huge fan of the art. I prefer my comics to look as realistic as they read. But the art did lend itself well to the subject-matter, especially since the story is told primarily through the eyes of the aging Bruce and Gordon. It appeared to clwarly depict the blurry and colurless world of Gotham.
The story itself worked well and a 4 comic arc gave it enough weightage. The only part I didn't like was that bizarre scenario with Bruno - seriously, what on Earth! It was, yet again, an unkind reminder that women are not welcome in the world of comics or comic-reading.
The ending could have been crafted better. But these stories definitely remain enduring.
