Book Review - 1984

19841984 by George Orwell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dark and cynical, Orwell paints a vivid and frightening picture of a world gone mad - well, mad if you're sane, anyway. We see the world through the eyes of Winstone, and his trepidation and fear of his own thoughts. It's an endless battle within oneself and against the world outside.

I loved it for its bleak outlook of a totalitarian world. It may not feel relevant today, but it remains a classic because of its atmospheric writing and concept.
